Vogue: Savage X Fenty Kicks Off Spring with Free Spirit Floral Collection
by Susan Devaney| Mar 1st, 2021
We all know florals for spring may not be groundbreaking but, according to Rihanna, free-spirit florals certainly are. Giving a nod to the experimental-era of the swinging ’60s, RiRi’s latest drop for Savage X Fenty has one season in mind: spring.
Relaxing on a lounger, RiRi showcased the brand’s three-piece free-spirit floral lingerie in the latest campaign. Portraying a lockdown mood, lounging around is something RiRi has adapted to during the pandemic. “I’m just lounging around, bumming out and loving it,” she previously told Vogue of her time in lockdown which she spent between California and Mexico. Is it any wonder then that she does so in one of her own robes? “Robes are my new uniform,” she said. “It’s comfortable, flexible, and easy. You can have thin ones, thick ones, why do anything else? You’re at home, no make-up, no weave. [I’m] chilling and doing what I have to do. Of course, I’ll put on clothes for a Zoom meeting every now and then.”
Sharing the “Savage af. don’t trip” post to her millions of fans, the hit-maker made a light reference to the trippy mindset of the hippy-loving era. In fresh lilac, acid-green, and sunflower yellow, the spring-inspired spoils are definitely mood-enhancing. From a delicately embroidered teddy to mesh night slips and patterned tights, every piece would put a spring in anyone’s step.
Let’s not forget that Savage X is for every body. With sizes from 32A to 42DD and XS to 3X, plus an affordable price range, the brand’s mission to overhaul our smalls drawers is made all the easier thanks to its inclusivity-first policies. Now, courtesy of RiRi, springtime has arrived earlier than expected.
