Fighting COVID-19 with Direct Relief

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected millions of people around the world, including TechStyle Fashion Group’s global membership community and our 3,000 employees. In addressing this global crisis, our first priority was to protect the well-being of our employees. For TechStyle, that means doing whatever it takes to maintain stability for our employees. From leveraging the availability of our retail associates for corporate support, to making it possible for our over 1,000 customer service agents to work from home, we’re proud to stand tall as a retailer during this difficult period for the industry and avoid any COVID19-related layoffs.

While we’ve gone to great lengths to protect the health and well-being of our employees in impacted areas, we know there is more to be done to support our communities.

The crisis has challenged our lives in ways previously unimaginable. Despite the distress the outbreak has caused, the TechStyle team has been moved and inspired by the resilience of first responders. Which is why we are donating $100,000 to Direct Relief and 100,000 medical masks to hospitals in our communities.

Direct Relief is a global humanitarian aid organization whose mission is to improve the health and lives of those affected by poverty or emergencies such as natural disasters. We chose to support Direct Relief because of their commitment to helping those in need without regard to politics, religion, or socioeconomic factors. We’ve seen first hand how their assistance programs have benefited vulnerable and at-risk populations by providing direct relief. Their targeted approach to supporting those in need is exactly what this crisis requires.

Our Direct Relief donation will immediately provide protective equipment and essential medical items to healthcare workers responding to the outbreak. The world’s frontline workers need our support more than ever and we feel privileged to have the ability to help properly equip them with crucial gear through this partnership.

We also want to lend a hand directly to TechStyle’s communities. Given the severe shortage of medical equipment, we are also committing to sourcing and distributing 100,000 protective masks. These masks will be donated to hospitals in the communities where TechStyle has a presence, including the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, Keck Medical Center of USC in Los Angeles, and the University of Louisville Health Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Our brands are also doing their part. Across the TechStyle portfolio, we’ve partnered with incredible organizations including the Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization, and Heart to Heart International, a humanitarian organization, to help distribute necessary equipment and medication. Our brands are continuing to introduce new initiatives that will help raise critical funds for groups such as these and those in need.

This COVID-19 pandemic hits closer to home than any crisis the world has faced since our founding. With so many affected by this unprecedented crisis, including many loved ones of our workforce, we want to do everything we can to support those on the frontlines who are risking their lives for others. We are proud to use the collective strength of TechStyle and our brands to provide healthcare workers with the essential equipment they need to protect our communities and save lives.
